Old Dog. He was a bastard.

My old Yorkie. He was a bastard. Never let me pick him up. Asshole. He's been napping for the past 7 years. General Lee (no relation to the car from Dukes of Hazzard).

Authorize.

A quick "eh, what the hell" sketch off the top of my head of a cop for "Man On The Loose."

Poor dude.

This is a sketch of "David." You might notice that life has kicked him in the balls and laughed at him. This was the general premise for my original follow-up to my thesis film, "The Sick Day," about a number cruncher who fakes, yes, you guessed it, a sick day, only to have life destroy his plans for hooky. For some reason it didn't work out, the outline I wrote was just a bunch of poor-luck gags strung together, and I felt that I was compressing too much into a 3 minute running time. I made Road Test instead. I still want to make Sick Day, it's kind of back-burning at the moment while I prep the cops n prisoners chase film. Maybe it'll return as a web series on my site.

quick thumbnail

Quick thumbnail sketch of the prisoner, 'DeSeve' from "Man On the Loose". Not necessarily how he is going to look. In fact this is the first rudimentary sketch I've ever done of him. He'll probably change a lot, since the character is a contortionist. I gotta draw more...

MAN ON THE LOOSE!

I hit a roadblock as I was writing my new short, "Man On The Loose." Hence the quick title mock-up. One area I want to reallly focus on is design for the new film. You'll see a few concepts posted here soon. My previous short, "Road Test" had sort of a rough, edgy chicken-scratch feel to it, mostly because I just wanted to get a frickin' film done fast.

"Man On The Loose" is a comedy/chase between a prisoner and a cop. That's all there is to it, really. It's set in the 1930s so I can get away with more (no walkie-talkies, high-tech prison cells, etc).

Mutiny X-Mas.

The blogging has begun. First. Post. Everrrr. This is a little Christmas card that I made today. I've been sending it out to friends, family, contacts, etc. If anyone's interested in seeing the original black and white drawing, click here (FLASH required).

On another note. I took a much-delayed trip to the Met this weekend and saw an amazing exhibit, German paintings and sketches from the 1920s...check it out before February!
