Production complete

Production on "Pins & Needles" (title destined to change) has been complete for the past several weeks. Thanks to those who have been keeping up with this blog, enduring some wretched pencil tests and traveling through the various bowels of an indie production.

With the help of some honest cats, I was able to clear up some parts of the ending and tweak a few bits here and there, a luxury I haven't had since "Road Test" (2006).

Currently I am tinkering with the sound mix and tidying up a background or two. I'm still deciding on Music---if the story needs it or not. I've been watching "No Country For Old Men" over the past several months and studying how the Coens used sound editing and effects and little to no music.

I know I've got an amusing story in "Pins", I'm very interested in seeing how an audience will react to it. I am using the framework of a mundane workplace/office comedy to balance out the fantastical, somewhat darkly humorous events that occur. I hope it doesn't come off as schizophrenic. I'm more happy with this one than my last short, "Road Rage." It's certainly more accessible.

Anyhow, thanks to all for keeping up. I'll probably post some more stuff in the upcoming weeks. Check out the new film, along with several brand-new kick-ass animated shorts, at Midsummer Night Toons 2 June 10th in TriBeca.
